Ok... this is part 2 of the Mr Tay expedition. In case you can't see, switch your browser to see chinese words and press Control+"Plus Sign" to enlarge the words.
Lets carry on from where I left...
After Mr Tay recounted of how he lost his father, there was no silence, only crying... Mr Tay was tearing like i've never seen before. I never thought of Mr Tay crying but, it was really heart breaking to see our strong teacher cry right in front of us... Then, he started speaking again.
“你们要珍惜你们的父母知道吗?我的父亲走得太突然了,一点征兆也没有。我连见他最后一面的机会都没有。”
"You have to treasure your parents. My father passed away too suddenly, there was no signs nor symptoms. I didn't even have opportunity to meet him for one last time."
“你们有可能会很讨厌你们父母亲们一回家就开始唠叨,不过这都是为了你们好的。你们要珍惜你们的父母亲。”
"You may hate your parents for nagging you the moment you step in home, but all these is for your own good. You have to treasure your parents."
Ok... this is based on my memories... so... they should be about there. And if im not wrong, he mumbled to himself : "我连被父亲唠叨的机会都没有了。。。” (I don't have to chance to be nagged by my father anymore...)
Mr Tay also mentioned about his mother too.
"我觉得最难过的是我母亲。”
(I think my mother feels the worst)
Mr Tay said this because his mother never did cry, and he believed that it was the worse scenario that could happen because everything is being cooped up inside, and not released. Therefore, he felt that his mother had the worse impact of all...
Truly... We should really treasure our parents. No matter how they nag us, how they beat us( if you have) or how they treat us... Most of our times are spent with our parents and within our lives, i doubt anyone would say they hate their parents...
Mr Tay told us that when he went home that Wednesday night, he still thought that his father was still inside the room playing computer, or either in the bathroom. But, when he realized that his father had past away, he broke down. (he cried when he told us this too, constantly wiping the edges of eyes with the tissue that was used umpteen times, from the way it was crumpled and torn) He couldn't get used to the life without his parents.
A few of us sobbed when we heard of the story.
We placed ourselves in Mr Tay's shoes.
What is it like?
How does it feel?
What would I do?
To come back home,
To find your father,
That was all jumpy and alive,
And scolding you yesterday,
Gone.
We might get tired of our parents nagging at us for no good reason,
We might get tired of our parents asking us to help out with the house chores,
We might get tired of our parents scolding us for things we didn't do,
We might even rebut back when our parents scold us, with whatever harmful words we can find.
At this point of time,
We might think "YES, I FINALLY SHUT HER/HIS MOUTH FOR ONCE."
But in actual fact, i think they are speechless not because we have really said something which made them tongue tied, but speechless because they are hurt, appalled, stunned.
I admit, after the visit to Mr Tay, it somehow or rather changed my view for my parents.
Mr Tay and his father made me realize something.
If we don't treasure our parents now, when will we?
When they past away...?
Is it too late to start showing my appreciation now?
Hmmm... i think i should just leave it like that,
Its something I shouldn't answer,
Because the answer is definitely clearer in ourselves than what others say.
~The End~
A visit to Mr Tay.

As some of you ( or most of you ) might have known, Mr Eric Tay , didn't attend our lessons on the 4th and 5th of October due to his sudden departure of his beloved father. So, some of us decided to visit Mr. Tay, since it was our last day in school and especially to console one of our best teachers and 5th of October...
Aiyo. So formal. Cannot take it.
So ya, Me, Terence, Haoyuan, Huidan, Yinshuen, Sharon Tan Liting( haha why full name? lol) and Pinru went to the Singapore Casket at Balestier road to visit Mr Tay la... so... once we reached, we saw a few teachers there already, like Mdm Lim, Mr Poh(the new teacher that went with us to the field trip, ok not exactly field, to esplanade), Mrs Allison Lim and our School counselor... whats her name... darn darn... is it Kalsi? wait... tats GB mobile... erm... brb... go find out... ok sry, i can't remember the name but is our school counselor la, not Esther Tan but the other one, the new young more pretty one haha. When we arrived, Mr Tay immediately stood up, and nodding to us, saying "Xie Xie, Xie Xie" (thank you) at that point in time, we didn't know what to say...
Ok... so when we arrived... we saw Mr Tay, sitting with the teachers and few scholars, like Jiexin and all Chiling also there... then... after we arrived shortly, the scholars went off... so left with the teachers and us la... the next part is the more... unpleasant part...
After they left, we went to sit beside Mr Tay, and the teachers kind of probe him to avoid the silence... It was pretty odd... It was for the first time, I felt that saying nothing would be the best... but i did in the end... Anyway, back to the thing. Mr Tay didn't eat or sleep alot... you can tell it from his paler-than-pale face that showed his tiredness... When the teachers passed him some cakes, he said that he doesn't have any appetite... and when probed further, he said he doesn't have the appetite to eat anything for the past few days and ate only for the sake of eating... then... the deafening silence stepped in once more...
This time, it was Mr Tay himself who broke the silence...
He mentioned how the whole incident happened... I'm sorry if there is any error in this following account and i hope that someone would correct it with there was something wrong with what i've mentioned or whatsoever.
Near 5 O clock on the 3rd of October, Mr Tay was attending a meeting with several teachers including Mrs Poh and Mr Ng, he then suddenly received a call from his father, which was actually his mother calling, but he didn't pick up as he was in the middle of the important meeting and smsed him saying that his in a meeting, and to call him back later. However, 1/2 and hour later, his phone rang again and he sensed something amiss and requested to pick up the call. His mother told him that something had happened to his father and to come to the hospital ASAP. Of course, he did, however... halfway through the thing... his father had already passed(past?) away...
Then, he gave us more information about his father...
His father was 57 years old ( i asked him) and to tell you the truth, i think its still not that age for people to pass away... its still too young... and back to the same the thing... Mr Tay mentioned that his father had no problem in his life... He could easily climb up and down 7 stories of stairs to buy newspaper. His father had a heart attack 3 years back and was found have a few blood veins blocked. He was given a choice to take the operation but he rejected, as there was a high risk in it as well. Mr Tay believed that he could have taken the operation if not for the doctors constantly nagging for his father to take the operation but felt rather irritated and negative about the docs and decided opt out of the operation and take care of his own health by constantly taking medicine and maintain a healthy diet... Nothing was wrong after that and his father actually wanted to have another health check to see whether the passages were still blocked. But still... he suffered a heart attack again the 3rd of October and passed away.
Geez. Got to go. Ciaos. Part 2 will be updated tomorrow...
